Woman Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Union Tribune and 10 News reported that a 22-year-old-woman was struck by a car while crossing the street in the Lincoln Park area of San Diego. The accident occurred after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Logan Avenue, just near 49th Street. Officer Dino Delimitros of the San Diego Police Department stated that the woman sustained massive internal and head injuries after she was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 50-year-old man. The woman, whose name has not been released, tragically succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

UPDATE: According to a press release, the woman who was struck and killed in this terrible incident has been identified as Daniela Lopez of San Diego. The San Diego County Coroner's Office reported that Lopez was transported to a trauma center after the accident, but could not be revived after aggressive resuscitative efforts.

Woman Struck and Killed by Car in San Diego

Reynard Way and Redwood Street - San Diego.pngSAN DIEGO - The San Diego County Coroner's Office reported in a press release that a 62-year-old woman was fatally struck by a Honda Civic in the Middletown area of San Diego. At about 9:25 p.m. Saturday, the woman was walking east in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Reynard Way and Redwood Street when the driver of a Honda - a 75-year-old woman - failed to yield and hit her.

The collision caused the woman to be thrown onto the street where she then suffered "blunt force injuries." Following this horrific accident, she was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where she later died due to her injuries. The female pedestrian's name is currently being withheld until her family is notified.

UPDATE: The 62-year-old woman involved in this pedestrian accident has been identified as Gabriela Alexandrescu of San Diego, the San Diego County Coroner's Office reported.

One Killed, Two Injured in State Route 76 Head-On Car Crash

SAN DIEGO - A head-on car accident along State Route 76 killed one person and left two others injured this morning, CBS 8 News reports. The tragic crash occurred west of Adams Drive in Pauma Valley, when the driver of a 2003 Acura RSX traveling westbound lost control of her vehicle, veered onto oncoming eastbound traffic and collided with a 2006 Suzuki Forenza.

Following this February 25th accident, the drivers of the vehicles were taken to a hospital for further treatment. A passenger in the Acura was also transported to a hospital, but later died due to his injuries. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved in this tragedy. No further information were released regarding the names and ages of the individuals involved in the crash.

UPDATE: According to the San Diego County Coroner's Office, the passenger tragically killed in this car crash has been identified as 77-year-old Woo C. Chong of Los Angeles.

Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Left-Turn Collision in Barrio Logan

mainstreetvesta.jpgSAN DIEGO - A 21-year-old man suffered a broken femur and broken collarbone in a collision Tuesday afternoon in the Barrio Logan area, 10 News reported. The accident, which involved the motorcycle, and a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was reported at the collision of Main Street and Vesta Street, at 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

According to news reports, the victim was riding eastbound on Main Street when the Chevrolet, travelling westbound, turned left in front the motorcycle's path, onto Vesta Street. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Report Traffic Division. It is unclear how fast the car or the motorcycle were travelling when the crash occurred.
