Pedestrian Struck by SUV in San Diego

SAN DIEGO -- A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was hit by an oncoming vehicle in Kearny Mesa. The woman, whose name was not released, was struck by a Jeep Liberty while she was attempting to cross the 8600 block of Spectrum Center Boulevard at about 7:40 a.m. Friday.

The motorist told investigators she was going between 15-20 mph when she felt a bump, then stopped to find the pedestrian woman on the ground behind her vehicle, 10 News reported. The woman was then taken to a local hospital with a possible broken pelvis.

The accident that occurred around noon at Van Dyke Avenue near El Cajon Boulevard, left the 8-year-old child with a broken arm and the 6-year-old with head injuries. Both were taken to a hospital for further treatment.

According to CBS 8 News, it is not clear if the pedestrian was riding the skateboard at the time of the incident. No other further information or the names of the individuals involved in the accident was immediately released.

According to The San Diego Union Tribune, a southbound driver on El Camino Real lost control of her vehicle, slid sideways onto the center median, and slammed into a palm tree on the passenger side.

Following the car crash, the driver's passenger, Rizelle Cabana Alamares, 24, died at the scene, and the driver, who was in her 20s, was airlifted to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries.

Two Injured in Poway Car Accident on State Route 67

State Route 67 - Poway.pngPOWAY -- A three-vehicle collision in Poway left two people seriously injured on Tuesday. According to 10 News, the accident happened after 7 p.m. on state Route 67, south of Poway Road, when a man driving a large passenger van on the northbound lanes became distracted and veered onto the southbound lanes, sideswiping a trailer-towing truck.

After hitting the truck, the man attempted to drive back towards his lane, but ended up slamming head-on with a sedan headed south. The two occupants in the sedan were taken to a hospital after the accident with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported regarding the occupants in the two other vehicles.

Motorcyclist Struck and Injured by Two Cars in Escondido

The accident occurred at about 5:50 a.m., when the driver of a 2003 Saturn, Michael Maclean, 29, of Escondido, failed to stop at the intersection of Bear Valley Parkway and Birch Avenue, and then struck the 21-year-old Escondido motorcyclist Edgar Hernandez-Rodriguez. The collision caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike and land on the road.

While Hernandez-Rodriguez was laying on the road, the driver of 2003 Dodge Dakota, Matthew Bertrand, 41, of Santee, struck him about 8 minutes after the crash. According to CHP officer Chris Parent, people at the scene tried to warn Bertrand of the injured motorcyclist lying on the road, but he failed to stop.

Following this horrific accident, Hernandez-Rodriguez sustained major injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

According the Chula Vista Police Lt. Dan Hardman, the motorcyclist could not avoid the collision, and therefore, struck the side of the vehicle. After this devastating crash, the motorcyclist, whose name was not immediately available, suffered serious injuries and was transported to UCSD Medical Center for further treatment.

Boy Hit by Car While Riding Bicycle in San Diego

SHERMAN HEIGHTS -- A 6-year-old boy was struck by a car at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday near 25th Street and L Street, 10 News reported. After the young boy was struck, he was dragged roughly 5 to 10 feet.
