SAN DIEGO -- A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was hit by an oncoming vehicle in Kearny Mesa. The woman, whose name was not released, was struck by a Jeep Liberty while she was attempting to cross the 8600 block of Spectrum Center Boulevard at about 7:40 a.m. Friday.
According to San Diego police, the motorist had the sun in her eyes and apparently did not see the pedestrian. SAN DIEGO - Two children in the City Heights area of San Diego were tragically struck by a car Monday. POWAY -- A three-vehicle collision in Poway left two people seriously injured on Tuesday. According to 10 News, the accident happened after 7 p.m. on state Route 67, south of Poway Road, when a man driving a large passenger van on the northbound lanes became distracted and veered onto the southbound lanes, sideswiping a trailer-towing truck.

After hitting the truck, the man attempted to drive back towards his lane, but ended up slamming head-on with a sedan headed south. SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- A motorcyclist was tragically struck and injured by two vehicles in Escondido on Tuesday morning, North County Times reported. The accident occurred at about 5:50 a.m., when the driver of a 2003 Saturn, Michael Maclean, 29, of Escondido, failed to stop at the intersection of Bear Valley Parkway and Birch Avenue, and then struck the 21-year-old Escondido motorcyclist Edgar Hernandez-Rodriguez. The collision caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike and land on the road.

While Hernandez-Rodriguez was laying on the road, the driver of 2003 Dodge Dakota, Matthew Bertrand, 41, of Santee, struck him about 8 minutes after the crash. According to CHP officer Chris Parent, people at the scene tried to warn Bertrand of the injured motorcyclist lying on the road, but he failed to stop.

Following this horrific accident, Hernandez-Rodriguez sustained major injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
