OCEANSIDE - A 49-year-old Poway man was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident at about 6 a.m. Friday, CBS 8 News reported. The accident happened on north Interstate 5 south of Basilone Road, when the motorcyclist was struck by a 2003 Nissan 350Z driven by Eugene McCulloch, 23, of Camp Pendleton. According to CHP officer Chris Parent, McCulloch was traveling about 70 mph when he veered towards the median and lost control as he tried to correct it. The result of the crash caused the motorcyclist, whose name was not released, to sustain fatal injuries.
