Man Severely Injured in Bonsall Accident on State Route 76

state Route 76 - Bonsall.pngBONSALL -- A man who is a subcontractor hired by Caltrans to restore native habitat was in a horrific accident at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday along State Route 76. According to 10 News, the worker, Jason Giessow, was standing next to a vegetation-clearing equipment when a loose cable caught in the machinery. The cord then whipped towards Giessow and tragically severed his arm.

Searchers at the scene found the arm at about 3 p.m., approximately 50 yards from the site of the accident. Officials placed the arm in ice and saline solution and airlifted it to a hospital. Giessow was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and in fair condition, but whether or not his arm was reattached was not immediately released.
