Woman Injured in San Diego Bicycle Accident

College Ave - San Diego.pngSAN DIEGO -- A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle in the College Area. According to 10 News, the woman, whose name was not released, was riding south on College Avenue, near Cresita Drive, when she was hit by a Hyundai SUV at about 5:30 p.m.

The driver of the SUV, a 55-year-old man, was attempting to pass the bicyclist who was in the slow lane, but there was not enough room. The collision caused the female bicyclist to hit the ground and suffer major facial fractures.

The brothers, Richard and John Garritson were jogging with three other family members along a trail off Cobb Lane when they were mauled by four pit bulls. The attack eventually came to a hault when they were called by their unidentified owner. However, the aftermath of this tragic dog attack left the two brothers severely injured and were both flown to Sharp Hospital for further treatment.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- According to NBC San Diego, a 62-year-old man was seriously injured in a possible hit-and-run accident in Carlsbad Sunday morning. Officers responded to the scene around 3:12 a.m. in the 300 block of Carlsbad Village Drive, when they found the pedestrian lying along the side of the road. The pedestrian, George W. Brown, sustained head injuries and was transported to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla after the crash. Doctors treating the victim indicated his injuries are consitent with being struck by a vehicle.

According to CHP officer Chris Parent, McCulloch was traveling about 70 mph when he veered towards the median and lost control as he tried to correct it. The result of the crash caused the motorcyclist, whose name was not released, to sustain fatal injuries.

Man Severely Injured in Bonsall Accident on State Route 76

state Route 76 - Bonsall.pngBONSALL -- A man who is a subcontractor hired by Caltrans to restore native habitat was in a horrific accident at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday along State Route 76. According to 10 News, the worker, Jason Giessow, was standing next to a vegetation-clearing equipment when a loose cable caught in the machinery. The cord then whipped towards Giessow and tragically severed his arm.

Searchers at the scene found the arm at about 3 p.m., approximately 50 yards from the site of the accident. Officials placed the arm in ice and saline solution and airlifted it to a hospital. Giessow was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and in fair condition, but whether or not his arm was reattached was not immediately released.

According to 10 News, the driver of a car traveling west on Hunte Parkway failed to make a turn onto Eastlake Parkway, which then caused the vehicle to crash into a guardrail and down a 100-foot embankment.

Following the crash, one person was airlifted to a local hospital and another person was taken to a hospital via ambulance. The third occupant in the car, who was the rear seat passenger, was reported to have died at scene. And according to a press release provided by the San Diego County Coroner, the deceased individual was is identified as Rebecca Anne Mabunay, 23, of Chula Vista.

Oceanside Pastor Arrested on Molestation Charges

MatthiasAnderson.jpgSAN DIEGO - A 41-year-old Hemet man who is a lead pastor at New Wine Ministries in Oceanside was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of child molestation, the North County Times reported. The suspected, Matthias Anderson, was arrested at about 7:45 a.m. near the juvenile victim's Murrieta home. According to police, the girl and her mother have been attending the suspect's church for two years.

According to reports in the NC Times, Anderson is suspected of engaging in sexual acts with the girl on multiple occasions, both in Riverside County and San Diego County. Bail was set at $1 million and Anderson was held at the Southwest Detention Center. Police stated there is the possibility that Anderson had victimized other juveniles in Oceanside.
