Boy Tragically Struck by Car in San Diego
San Diego -- According to NBC San Diego, an 8-year-old boy was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, in front of Walter Porter Elementary School located at 4800 T Street. Officer David Cali of the San Diego Police Department indicated that a BMW, driven by a 53-year-old woman, was traveling southbound near South 48th Street when she severely struck the young boy. Following this horrible collision, the boy suffered a fracture to his left foot and was transported to a local hospital.

SAN DIEGO -- A male pedestrian, whose name was not released, was fatally struck by an Amtrak commuter train in Old Town, CBS 8 News reported. The specific details regarding the incident was not immediately available, however, what was given through news reports indicated the man was apparently standing or walking on the tracks when he was hit by the train near Pacific Highway and Washington Street at about 5:15 a.m. Friday. After the horrific collision, the man was reported to have tragically died at the scene.
VISTA -- A pedestrian was severely struck by a car in Vista at about 5:05 a.m. Saturday, CBS 8 News reports. The horrific collision occurred near the intersection of East Vista Way and Warmlands Avenue. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and helped give pedestrian first aid. Following the accident, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Palomar Hospital. According to the police, the pedestrian man had no identification on him, and is described to be an 18- to 24-year-old Hispanic male, weighing about 160 to 170 pounds, and is roughly 6 feet 5 inches tall. At the time of the accident he was wearing a blue/white checkered shirt and blue jeans. SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- A pedestrian was fatally struck and killed on State Route 125 in La Mesa at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, 10 News reports. The man, whose name was not released pending family notification, was running across the southbound freeway when he was severely struck by a gray Honda Accord. The driver of the Accord called 911 to report the incident and mentioned that other vehicles hit the man as well. A total eight vehicles stopped following the accident, but it is not exactly known how many of them struck the pedestrian. According to Sgt. Damian Budwine of the CHP, the pedestrian is believed to be 25 to 35 years old.
NORTH PARK - A 30-year-old bicyclist very tragically died Friday morning at Scripps Mercy Hospital, after he was critically injured by an opening car door Wednesday night on University Avenue, west of Kansas Street. According to 10 News, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Justin Newman, 30, of San Diego. The accident was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night on University Avenue, west of Kansas Street.
SAN DIEGO -- A car collision involving several vehicles killed two people Saturday at about 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 15 near Mira Mesa, 10 News reports. According to multiple news reports, the big collision consisted of four separate collisions. The first happened when a stalled vehicle on the freeway was rear-ended by another vehicle. The second occurred when a car driven by 34-year-old off-duty San Diego police officer Jason Prokop sideswiped the stalled vehicle. The third collision happened when two other vehicles swerved and crashed as they tried to avoid the accidents. And the fourth happened when Prokop got out of his vehicle to attend the occupant in the stalled car and then was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
