San Diego 6 News reported two motorists were injured Wednesday night in a head-on collision in the Clairemont Mesa West area. The accident, which was reported at 7:56 p.m. in the 3400 block of Boyd Avenue, involved an Acura Integra and a Toyota Corolla.
According to news reports, the 18-year-old driver of the Acura Integra going southbound attempted to pass another vehicle, and struck a northbound Toyota Corolla head-on. Both the driver of the Integra and the 67-year-old driver of the Corolla reportedly suffered broken femurs. Both drivers also had a passenger with them, and the passengers suffered minor injuries. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
