A 38-year-old man was struck and killed by a city dump truck yesterday while riding his bike in the Oak Park area of San Diego. The fatal bicycle accident occurred near the intersection at Krenning Street and College Grove Drive at about 1 p.m. Monday. Authorities reported the cyclist attempted to pass the truck on the right when he was struck, but it was not clear if he was on the sidewalk or in a crosswalk. Nobody else was injured in the accident. According to reports in the San Diego Union Tribune, medics who responded to the scene tried to revive the victim but he died before he could be transported to a local hospital.
